Woman stabbed by man who later died was his mother, CCPD says

The man who died after being accused of stabbing his mother on Aug. 21 has been identified, according to the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office and Corpus Christi Police Department.

Jess Boswell, 42, was detained by residents in the 4600 block of Yorktown Boulevard who claimed Boswell had stabbed a woman, an online post from the police department said.

Officer Madeline Commons confirmed Boswell was accused of stabbing his mother, who was in stable condition as of Aug. 21.

Shortly after officers took custody of Boswell at the scene, they observed him to be in "distress" and called for assistance from the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

Boswell was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Officers have not disclosed any injuries that Boswell

suffered from the altercation, and the medical examiner's office said the manner of death and cause are still pending.
