events will be held in the Coastal Bend to honor the lives lost 25 years ago on Sept. 11.
From ceremonies to workouts, here are seven ways to pay tribute in the Corpus Christi area.
Sept. 11
- Memorial Workout: The Corpus Christi Hooks will hold their seventh annual 9/11 Memorial Workout at Whataburger Field at 734 E. Port Ave. Donations will be accepted during the event with all proceeds benefiting local first responder groups. Cost: Free. Time: 7:30 a.m. Information: facebook.com/cchooks.
- Remembrance Ceremony: The Corpus Christi Fire Department, Corpus Christi Police Department and the Port of Corpus Christi Police Department will hold a remembrance ceremony to pay honor to fallen heroes of the 9/11 attacks at Heritage Park at 1581 N. Chaparral St. Cost: Free. Time: 8:30 a.m. Information: corpuschristitx.gov.
- Commemorative Ceremony: The city of Kingsville will hold a 25th anniversary commemorative ceremony to honor first responders at Texas A&M University-Kingsville's Javelina Stadium at 1355 N. Armstrong St. in Kingsville. Cost: Free. Time: 9 a.m. Information: kingsvilletexas.com/events/9-11-anniversary.
- Memorial Stair Climb: The Corpus Christi Fire Department will honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives responding to the World Trade Center attack with a memorial stair climb at Del Mar College's Windward Campus at 4101 Old Brownsville Road. Participants are asked to walk the entire climb, do what they're able to accomplish or just observe at the event. Water will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own. Cost: Free. - Memorial Concert: Texas A&M University-Kingsville's School of Music will hold a memorial concert in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11 in the Performance Hall of the Dr. Steven H. Tallant Music Building at 775 N. Armstrong St. in Kingsville. Cost: Free to attend. Time: 7 p.m. Information: tamuk.edu.

Sept. 12
- Memorial Stair Climb: The city of Beeville's VFW Post 9170 will hold a memorial stair climb at A.C. Jones High School's Veterans Memorial Stadium at 1902 N. Adams St. in Beeville. Participants will climb 2,220 steps or 110 flights. Register at bit.ly/Beeville911. Cost: Free. Time: 7 a.m. Information: bit.ly/VFWPost9170.
- Memorial Ride: Corpus Christi Harley-Davidson will host its 9/11 Memorial Ride for motorcyclists at 502 S. Padre Island Drive. The ride will start at the site and end at the Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery at 9974 I-37. Riders will return to Harley-Davidson for a memorial party with live music, free alcoholic beverages for adults aged 21 and older, food, a raffle and more. Cost: Free.
