A man who was fatally shot on the Westside on Aug. 25 has been identified and two suspects have been arrested facing murder charges, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department. Officers responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Brooks Drive at 1:21 a.m., where they located Nickolas Lara, 22, who later died from gunshot wounds at a local hospital.
The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Lara is the man who died.
On Aug. 25, CCPD’s Robbery/Homicide Division obtained a murder warrant for Julian Hinojosa, 24, and he was arrested in the 3000 block of Horne Road, an online post said.
The Robbery/Homicide Division also obtained a murder warrant for
Ricardo Ramirez, 23, and he was arrested on Aug. 27.
Hinojosa and Ramirez are both in custody at the Nueces County Jail, and they both have a bond set at $1 million.
The arrests were made with the assistance of CCPD’s SWAT Team, Drone Unit, Gang Unit, Criminal Investigations Division and the U.S. Marshals Service.
The people involved know each other and this is an isolated incident, police said.
