Dodging potholes all day?
Here’s how you can fix that.
Corpus Christi city street crews filled nearly 89,000 potholes within this past year, city officials say — about 2,600 based on work orders reported by residents.
The disparity in numbers is partially based on evaluation of the area where a pothole was reported and determining if there are other potholes, according to Manuel Hernandez, public works assistant director for streets.
“This cluster approach allows crews to efficiently address multiple potholes in a single work assignment rather than treating each reported pothole as an individual repair,” he is quoted in an Oct. 7 email to the Caller-Times.

Residents cannot fill potholes on their own, city officials say.
Here are the steps to getting
one fixed, according to emails sent to the Caller-Times:
Report the pothole by calling 3-1-1 or using the My CC361 app.
Provide the location — the name of the street and either the block number or its closest intersection.
A staff worker will go to the area to investigate.
A pothole crew fills the pothole, along with any others discovered in the area after evaluation.
The potholes are usually filled within two weeks.
