The Carousel Carnaval made its debut at Padre Staples Mall in 1988, residents were able to perform as extras in "The Legend of Billie Jean" in 1984 and President Jimmy Carter visited Corpus Christi in 1980.
While some things have changed quite a bit in the past four decades, movie lovers haven't, as avid fans of the "Star Wars" series wrapped a line around Cine 6 for the premiere of "Return of the Jedi" in 1983.
