A crash resulted in a death on Oct. 12 after a vehicle struck a semi-trailer truck, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 9400 block of Upriver Road at 6:28 a.m. for a major traffic crash, and when they arrived, they found the driver of the vehicle dead, senior officer Antonio Contreras said in an email.
Traffic investigators determined the vehicle was traveling south on Interstate 37 when it traveled off the roadway.
The vehicle drove through the grassy median and struck a parked 18-wheeler in the nearby gas station parking lot, Contreras said.
There were no other injuries reported, and the deceased driver had not been identified as of Oct. 12.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
