Want to see how the city of Corpus Christi may use your tax dollars?
Hundreds of pages in budget documents are now available, detailing how revenue drawn from the public through rates, fees and taxes is proposed to be doled out in 2027.
City officials released the proposed $1 billion operating budget and $450 million capital budget on July 28. The estimates are listed in the documents.
Each is available on the city’s website, corpuschristitx.gov, under the management and budget division's page.
The budget is proposed by city management coordinating with departments, but it is frequently amended by the City Council, which is ultimately responsible for adopting it.
The council is expected to have a series of workshops that will delve further into department
spending and revenue.
A vote on property tax and the initial vote on the budgets is scheduled for Sept. 1; Sept. 8 is when a second and final vote is scheduled to be taken.
Meetings are scheduled to solicit public input, according to a July 28 news release.
Each will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

- Aug. 5 — Lindale Senior Center, 3135 Swantner Drive
- Aug. 10 — Corpus Christi Gym, 3202 Cabaniss Road
- Aug. 12 — Ethel Eyerly Senior Center, 654 Graham Road
- Aug. 17 — Corpus Christi Police Department Training Academy, 6902 Yorktown Blvd.
- Aug. 19 — Northwest Senior Center, 9725 Up River Road
- Aug. 24 — Seashore Learning Academy Gym, 15801 S. Padre Island Drive
