Fall has officially begun in the Coastal Bend, even though the weather hasn't quite received the memo, and it's a great time to plan when you'll visit a local pumpkin patch.
From churches to farms, places in the Corpus Christi area are offering families a chance to pick their perfect pumpkin while enjoying some autumn-themed activities and photo ops.

Rockin’ K Farms
Explore the huge corn maze, pick out pumpkins from the farm's pumpkin patch and capture fall photo ops around the farm. Attractions will include giant slides, backyard games, farm animals, a cow train and an apple blaster. Concessions such as hamburgers,
hot dogs, grilled cheese, lemonade, ice-cold water and soda will be available. Tickets need to be purchased for entry.
When: Weekends Sept. 26 through Nov. 7; noon to 10 p.m. Saturdays; noon to 7 p.m. Sundays; and noon to 5 p.m. on Halloween

KidWalk at Art Center of Corpus Christi
The Art Center of Corpus Christi is partnering with H-E-B to give away 500 free mini pumpkins to children during the First Friday KidsWalk, during the monthly downtown ArtWalk. Children will be able to select a pumpkin, decorate it at the center and take it home to display. Enjoy free face painting, caricatures and more.

Corpus Christi First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch
Located at the church's Garden of Grace, the pumpkin patch will feature plenty of photo ops, storytelling, field trip opportunities and special family opportunities including a paint party and a pancake party. The money raised with the pumpkin patch will go toward the church's Children's Literacy Initiative.
When: Oct. 10 through Halloween; 2 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays

Portland First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch
First United Methodist Church of Portland offers a wide array of various-sized pumpkins and gourds, along with photo-shoot opportunities and activities for kids. Admission is free, but pumpkins are priced by size.

St. John’s United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch
The annual neighborhood pumpkin patch at St. John’s features pumpkins of all sizes for sale, field trips for area kids and school groups, and free photo setups. Purchases can be made by cash, check or credit/debit card.
