The 2025 high school cross country season saw another successful season that was boosted by some talented newcomers.
Carroll's Elaina Lucido ran her best in the biggest meets late in the season, grabbing the bronze at the Region IV-5A track meet and finishing 11th overall at the UIL State Meet.
Veterans Memorial's Trey Llanes excelled even in big challenging meets early in the season earning his own Top 10 performance in Region IV-5A before a Top 20 finish at the UIL State Meet.
Those showings joined another strong campaign from Robstown's Bianca Bosquez and Alice's Aubrey Garcia while Port Aransas' Leah DePiper and Tuloso-Midway's Joey Poblano burst onto the scene.

The junior was the District 29-5A champion, helped the Eagles claim the team title and then stamped his mark at the UIL State meet with a 15:56.6 to earn a Top 20 finish at the UIL State meet in a competitive Class 5A.

Lucido was not her dominant self early in the season, but she shook off a lighter schedule due to injury to perform when it mattered most. Lucido won the District 29-5A meet, grabbed bronze at the regional meet and then cloced 18:22 to finish 11th in Class 5A at the UIL State meet in Round Rock.
