As a new school year is rapidly approaching, the final reader vote on the 2025-26 Apple Dental Center High School team of the year is here.
The Taft girls basketball team, which made a thrilling run to the Class 3A Division II regional final, received the most votes after one week of voting followed by Santa Gertrudis Academy's state championship softball team.
The District 29-5A champion Veterans Memorial boys team was third.
Rounding out the finalists are Flour Bluff boys soccer, London boys soccer, Calallen baseball, Aransas Pass boys basketball and Sinton football, all of whom made deep playoff runs.
The final round of voting runs through July 31.
All vote totals reset each week.
