The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man fatally shot on Marion Street on Oct. 3.
Fredrick Almanza III, 45, was found dead at a residence by Corpus Christi police in the 3800 block of Marion Street.
Alex Borrego, 45, faces a murder charge in connection with the shooting, according to an online post by the police department.
Borrego was booked into the Nueces County Jail on Oct. 4 and remained there as of Oct. 6 at 2:30 p.m. on $1 million bail, according to jail records.
The Corpus Christi Police Department had not released information about what led to the shooting or if the victim and Borrego knew each other as of Oct. 6.
The investigation remains ongoing.
