The Texas Food Championship will be held Sept. 25-27 at Water's Edge Park in Corpus Christi.
The competition is a qualifying event for the World Food Championships and will feature "food sport," live music, food and drinks, and family activities including a gaming trailer, bouncy houses and a soft play area.
During the food sport competitions, competitors will have 90 minutes to create dishes in categories including pro chef, dessert, live fire, burger, bacon, noodle, seafood, barbecue, sandwich and junior chef.
The event is ticketed, with prices ranging from $15 for a daily pass to the championship on Sunday to $495 for a VIP weekend pass with chef-curated cuisine and exclusive experiences. Children ages 17 and under get in free but must register
in advance. A seat at the table for an intimate multi-course dining menu costs $55.
In addition to watching the live competitions, attendees can grab food from food trucks and festival vendors. The event also features premium culinary experiences.
Along with the food competitions, the event will include a regional cornhole tournament, sand volleyball tournament and eating challenges.

Del Mar College's culinary arts program is sending five teams of students to the event, competing in the burger, dessert, pasta and seafood categories.
