Nearly 20 people have signed up so far as candidates in the Corpus Christi City Council election, including former council members, incumbents, past candidates and political newcomers.
All nine seats on the council are up for election in November — mayor, three at-large representatives and five district representatives.
All council members serve in two-year terms.
At-large and district representatives earn $6,000 per year, and the mayor $9,000 per year.
The filing period to apply for a place on the ballot continues through 5 p.m. Aug. 17.
Early voting begins Oct. 19 and ends Oct. 30. Election Day is Nov. 3.
Below are the candidates who are shown as having filed applications with the city secretary’s office as of July 24, the first full week of filings.
They are listed in the order shown in city records.
