New construction next to the Sam's Club gas station in West Knoxville will provide 14,000 square feet of retail space, possibly including an indoor playground.
The empty lot at 321 N. Gallaher View Road is being transformed into a strip mall and parking lot, according to Knoxville Board of Zoning Appeals documents. The documents list Jay Patel as the property owner.
It's early in construction, but the documents detail 5,000 square feet of unnamed retail space, another section of 2,000 square feet and a final 7,000-square-foot space labeled "Giggletown."

The documents include no other details about Giggletown, but an indoor play area with a similar name has two locations in Georgia.
KGIS also lists the property as Giggletown. Elkcreek LLC purchased
the property for $900,000 on April 26. The site was formerly a car wash.
