An animal hospital in West Knox County is being built where a former Farragut flower shop once stood.
Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of Knoxville staffers expect to move into the new building - a few hundred yards west of the veterinary hospital's current location at 10213 Kingston Pike - around the end of 2027.
Workers started clearing land for the new animal hospital site in late summer. West Knoxville Florist had occupied the site for decades. But the flower shop has since closed and been torn down, even though its sign remained along Kingston Pike. The site was sold to Innovetive Knoxville for $1.25 million in 2022. Terravet, a real estate company that’s since rebranded as Terramed, bought the former florist shop site in August for $2.65
million, according to county property records.
The animal hospital’s website says it offers specialized veterinary services including surgery, imaging, internal medicine and oncology on referral bases, in addition to 24-hour emergency assistance.
