A 13-year-old boy was arrested after it was determined his 12-year-old brother died of blunt force trauma, Knoxville police said.
The 12-year-old was found dead the morning of Aug. 18 at a home on Cecil Avenue. His injuries weren't immediately obvious but a forensic exam showed he had internal damage.
"Following continued and persistent investigation led by KPD Homicide Unit detectives, it was determined that the victim had been assaulted by his brother, age 13, over the weekend," police said in a news release.
The 13-year-old was arrested on a juvenile petition for voluntary manslaughter. Neither of the boys' names were released.
This is a developing story.
