A motorcyclist shot during a suspected road rage incident Aug. 30 near Tazewell Pike and Sanders Drive remains in stable condition, according to a Knoxville Police Department news release.
KPD detectives determined the man driving the motorcycle and the occupants of a passenger vehicle engaged in a "prolonged road rage situation" and exchanged gunfire around 8 p.m. that night.
The motorcyclist was shot, and is in stable condition at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The other person riding on the motorcycle was not injured, according to KPD spokesperson Scott Erland.
The two people in the passenger vehicle left the scene and were found shortly afterward in Blount County, Erland said. Police said all involved in the incident are "known
and accounted for." No one has been arrested or charged in connection to the shooting.
