The 2026 TSSAA high school season has officially begun for all sports across the Knoxville area.
Here are the top performers from Week 1 of the TSSAA sports season.
Aug. 17
Volleyball
Sophie Cochran, Sequoyah: Cochran had 13 assists and three kills in Sequoyah's 2-0 victory over Lenoir City.
Ella Edmonds, Sequoyah:
Edmonds had 21 digs and 15 kills across Sequoyah's 2-0 win over Lenoir City and 2-1 loss to Meigs County.Annalee Rogers, Sequoyah: Rogers had 15 digs in the loss to Meigs County.
Karah White, Sequoyah: White had 13 assists in the loss to Meigs County.
Isabella Hylan, Seymour: Hylan finished with 14 digs, nine aces and seven assists in Seymour's wins over Oak Ridge and Kingston.
Abigail Prado, Seymour: Prado had 10 kills and seven digs.
Loralie White, Seymour:
White had 14 assists.
Denice Gaston, Webb: Gaston recorded 20 digs, 12 kills and two aces in Webb's 2-0 win over Alcoa and 2-1 loss to Maryville.
Arabella Keith, Webb: Keith had seven kills and two blocks in the loss to Maryville.
Reece Wilson, Webb: Wilson had seven kills and three blocks in the win over Alcoa.
Aug. 13
Cross-Country
Riley Harris, Alcoa: Harris won the Girls 2 Mile Run in the Coach's Challenge race with a time of 13 minutes, 38.39 seconds.
Sophia Mize, Alcoa: Mize came in fifth with a time of 14:02.90.
Maria Velediaz, Jefferson County: Velediaz finished 10th with a time of 15:25.15.
Emersyn Lowry, Karns: Lowry ended in fifth place with a time of 14:31.66.
Nora Kate Auten, Northview Academy: Auten earned an eighth-place finish with a time of 14:58.60.
Caylee Murrell, Northview Academy: Murrell secured fourth place with a time of 14:03.66.
Suzie Glashauser, Powell: Glashauser, a freshman, came in seventh with a time of 14:58.57.
Imri Hitson, Tellico Plains: Hitson, in her first varsity race, came in third with a time of 14:02.90.
Aug. 11
Golf
Anders Julius, Lenoir City: Julius shot 37 for Lenoir City in their match against William Blount at Lambert Acres.
