An HVAC company with roots in Wisconsin is moving dirt before moving into East Knox County. Greenheck Group -which in 2024 announced plans for a $300 million expansion into East Tennessee - is making changes to the 400 acres of land it’s developing at the Midway Business Park on Thorngrove Pike.
The company’s plans for its space at the business park include two 200,000-square-foot facilities that it says should open soon, with six other buildings also in the works. Greenheck is “months away” from operating its new damper plant in Knox County, as well as a separate architectural products plant, according to undated information on its website.
“While the manufacturing industry continues to navigate a period of slower growth and labor constraints,
Greenheck Group’s investment in Knoxville demonstrates the fact that we are winning customers over our competitors; and reflects the confidence they have in our products and our people,” the company said.
Several Greenheck employees already are working from Knox County. More will follow, the company said: 440 by 2029. The business has received a tax break from the county’s industrial board in return for its promised investments.
