ESPN's "College GameDay" is coming to Knoxville for Tennessee football's matchup with the No. 1 team in the country.
ESPN announced on Sept. 20 that UT will host "GameDay" before the No. 14 Vols (3-0) take on No. 1 Texas (3-0) on Sept. 26 (noon ET, ABC) at Neyland Stadium.
The show will air from 9 a.m. to noon ET on ESPN and will originate from the lawn of Ayres Hall. The final hour will he held inside the stadium.
Rece Davis is the host of the network's flagship college football show and is joined by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and former Alabama coach Nick Saban.
Tennessee hosted "College GameDay" last season when it played Georgia. It was the first time the show was in Knoxville since 2022 and former Lady Vols basketball
and WNBA star Candace Parker was the guest picker. The Vols lost that game in overtime, 44-41.
This will be the 13th time Tennessee has hosted "College Gameday" and the fourth during coach Josh Heupel's tenure. UT hosted the show twice in 2022 for games against Alabama and Florida.
This is the first time Tennessee and Texas are playing in 58 years and the SEC opener for both teams. With Texas starting quarterback Arch Manning being the nephew of Tennessee great Peyton Manning and the Vols breaking in five-star freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon, storylines are aplenty. Neyland Stadium will also make for a picturesque setting during its annual Checker Neyland game.

Tennessee has a 5-7 record in home games with "College GameDay" present. It had won three straight before losing to Georgia last year.
