Tennessee softball will host the reigning back-to-back national champions during its 2027 SEC schedule, which was announced Sept. 9.
The Lady Vols will face Texas at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in their first home series of conference play March 19-21. The Longhorns eliminated Tennessee in the Women's College World Series semifinal for the second straight season en route to their second straight national championship in June.
Tennessee will begin SEC play on the road against Texas A&M from March 12-14. It will also face LSU, Auburn and Arkansas on the road while hosting Oklahoma, Georgia and Missouri in addition to Texas.
The Lady Vols swept Georgia in the NCAA super regional at home in May to advance to their third WCWS in the last four seasons.
Overall, Tennessee will play six teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season, including five teams that made it to super regionals and two that reached WCWS. Arkansas is the other WCWS team on the schedule.
Oklahoma and Texas are back on Tennessee's schedule after not playing during the regular season in 2026. The Lady Vols faced both teams on the road during their first season in the SEC in 2025 and won both series.
Even though Tennessee and Texas didn't play during the regular season, the teams squared off three times at the 2026 WCWS. The Lady Vols upset Texas 6-3 in their WCWS opener to stay in the winner's bracket, but the Longhorns got their revenge and beat Tennessee twice in the semifinals to advance to the championship series.
Texas returns star pitcher Teagan Kavan, who was named the first back-to-back Most Outstanding Player of the WCWS in tournament history.
Tennessee coach Karen Weekly also hired former Texas associate head coach Ehren Earleywine to her staff this offseason. Earleywine spent one season with the Longhorns.
