I know it’s only September and 90 degrees outside, but it’s not too early to safeguard one of America’s most cherished holiday traditions. It’s my civic duty to warn my fellow citizens about this threat: currently there are no safeguards to assure the validity of children’s requests to Santa.
Any child can go to a mall and tell Santa what they want him to bring for Christmas. Any child can mail a letter to Santa. There is no system to verify the identity, immigration status or religion of children who visit Santa in-person OR mail in their Christmas lists. Santa’s sleigh can only carry so many presents. That means every gift delivered to a child who is in the country illegally takes sleigh space away that could be used for gifts to Christian,
U.S. citizen children!
There is nothing to stop children without legal status, or children who are Jewish or Muslim, from asking Santa to bring them a present, or even many presents!
It is imperative that mall security require photo identification – and a baptismal certificate or letter from their pastor – from every child and parent who is visiting Santa. The post office must immediately start checking the return addresses of all mail to the North Pole, ensuring the child is a Christian U.S. citizen and is on the Nice List, not the Naughty List.
I’m urging all our elected representatives to pass the Save Our Santa (SOS) Act to protect Christmas and prevent illegal incursions into Santa’s sack of gifts. The integrity of our Christmas gift resources has never been in more peril, and we must remove all who would consume American resources to which they are not entitled.
