Here are the top eight Knoxville area high school football games for Week 10 of the 2026 TSSAA football season, with our predictions.
Game of the Week
No. 21 South-Doyle (6-2, 3-2 in Region 2-4A) at No. 19 Anderson County (5-3, 4-1)
When: 7 p.m., Oct. 23
Two of the Knoxville area's most potent offenses fight for playoff positioning in Region 2-4A. Anderson County rebounded from a loss at Gibbs by dropping 63 points on Union County. South-Doyle survived a 33-28 non-region contest against Clinton after its loss to Alcoa the previous week.
Prediction: Anderson County 38, South-Doyle 34

No. 11 Gibbs (7-1, 4-1 in 2-4A) at Heritage (3-5, 1-4)
When: 7 p.m., Oct. 22
Gibbs features in another Thursday night game with an opportunity to win its sixth straight
game. The Eagles' defense stifled Fulton to just six points in their most recent win, led by senior defensive end Seth Seiber. Heritage's defense has had trouble slowing down opponents, allowing an average of 43 points in its five losses.
Prediction: Gibbs 32, Heritage 17
No. 7 Grace Christian (7-1, 4-1 in DII-AA East) at No. 12 Lakeway Christian (7-1, 4-1)
When: 7 p.m., Oct. 23
Lakeway Christian's defense has pitched three shutouts this season. The Lions may be able to disrupt Grace Christian's offense, which scored a season-low in its 31-27 loss to CAK. The Rams, though, still have a high ceiling and await the return of freshman receiver Braylen Mathis. Mathis, who totes offers from Tennessee, Auburn, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss, sat out the loss against CAK with injury.
Prediction: Grace Christian 30, Lakeway Christian 24
No. 14 Coalfield (7-1, 5-0 in 2-1A) at No. 16 Greenback (8-0, 5-0)
When: 7 p.m., Oct. 23
The two top Knoxville area teams in Class 1A collide in what may be one of the best games of the season. Coalfield's lone loss was a 17-13 outing against Gordonsville, the No. 5 team in Class 2A in the TSWA Football Poll. Greenback, in its last two weeks, has outscored opponents 122-0. Both teams have breezed through region competition, making this effectively the Region 2-1A championship game.
Prediction: Coalfield 28, Greenback 25
No. 17 Sweetwater (7-1, 2-1 in 2-3A) at McMinn Central (5-3, 1-2)
When: 7 p.m., Oct. 23
Sweetwater's rushing approach enjoyed another strong showing in its 52-0 shutout win over Oneida. The Wildcats have plastered 164 total points in their last three games. McMinn Central needs the Region 2-3A win to jump into the playoff conversation, but it will be hard to stop Sweetwater's rolling offense.
Prediction: Sweetwater 36, McMinn Central 24
Farragut (1-7, 1-3 in 2-6A) at No. 13 Oak Ridge (6-2, 2-2)
When: 7 p.m., Oct. 23
Oak Ridge stumbled in a crucial Region 2-6A match in Week 9 against Hardin Valley. With a regular season finale against Maryville looming, the Wildcats have a must-win home game against a Farragut offense that has been shutout in its last two games.
Prediction: Oak Ridge 34, Farragut 14
Clinton (3-5, 3-2 in 2-5A) at No. 10 Powell (7-1, 5-0)
When: 7 p.m., Oct. 23
Powell's quest for a perfect regular season ended on the road at Jefferson County. The loss doesn't impact the Panthers' ability to win Region 2-5A for a second straight season. Defeating Clinton would keep Powell perfect in region play before its final game against West.
Prediction: Powell 33, Clinton 17
Elizabethton (6-2, 5-0 in 1-4A) at No. 15 Seymour (7-1, 4-1)
When: 7 p.m., Oct. 23
Seymour has positioned itself well throughout the season. Its close region wins over Volunteer and Cherokee kept the Eagles alive for the chance to play for a home playoff game with a win over Elizabethton. The Cyclones, though, have had much less trouble against region opponents as they eye a potential region title game in Week 11 against Greeneville.
Prediction: Elizabethton 27, Seymour 23
Overall prediction record: 58-14
