Comedian and football fanatic Shane Gillis has arrived on Rocky Top and spent time before walking into Neyland Stadium to take photos with fans ahead of No. 13 Tennessee’s matchup with No. 1 Texas.
Gillis,
known for his hit Netflix Series “Tires,” is a fan of Notre Dame football but has famously starred alongside VFL Peyton Manning in recent Bud Light campaigns.
The Sept. 26 matchup is a high-profile event that drew ESPN’s “College GameDay,” which is bringing Johnny Knoxville back to his hometown to serve as guest picker.
Other notable names are expected to be in attendance, and none is bigger than President Donald Trump.The president’s visit has meant extra security on campus, including the Secret Service Police. The stadium opened 9 a.m. for the noon kickoff, 30 minutes earlier than what’s typical for Vols games.
Gillis also is the co-host of “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast,” alongside fellow comic Matt McCusker. He is scheduled to host “Saturday Night Live” for a third time in October after infamously being pulled from the show’s cast.
Gillis, along with Steve Gerben and John McKeever, went on to create “Tires,” which last month was renewed for Season 4.
