Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy is experiencing AC issues in parts of the building on the first day of classes, KCS spokesperson Carly Harrington told Knox News.
"KCS Maintenance staff and Trane technicians are currently working on the unit," Harrington said. "They have identified the issue and are working to make the necessary repairs as quickly as possible."
This is the only school reporting AC issues on the first day of school, according to Harrington. Students were not being dismissed early, she said, but were already scheduled to leave at 11:15 a.m. because it's a districtwide half-day.
Weather forecasts have a high of 91 degrees Monday, but will hit 82 degrees around dismissal with 78% humidity, according to The Weather Channel.
