Tennessee football's secondary took another hit this week. Safety Dylan Lewis is out for the year with a foot injury, a source told Knox News
The source requested anonymity because no announcement has been made yet.
Lewis is the sixth Tennessee player to suffer a season-ending injury only four games into the 2026 season. He joins starting safety Edrees Farooq (knee), starting tight end Ethan Davis (knee), wide receiver/kick returner Joakim Dodson (leg), linebacker Jaedon Harmon (knee), cornerback Jadais Richard (upper-body).
Starting left guard Wendell Moe also left the Texas game with an apparent lower left leg injury. But coach Josh Heupel declined to comment on Moe's status on Sept. 28.
Lewis, a sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia, played in three
games this season, logging six total tackles. He was ruled out for the Vols' last game against Texas on the Sept. 23 injury report.
The No. 17 Vols (3-1, 0-1 SEC) return to Neyland Stadium to host Auburn (3-1, 1-1 SEC) on Oct. 3 (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
