Thank you for having our local candidates questioned in the Oct. 11 paper expressing their qualification and hopes and ideas for their terms in office.
What was most distressing was the refusal of the Republican candidates to respond to your questions. What are they afraid of? Do they not have any plans for their possible terms? Do they think they might offend the leader of their party?
How can we, their constituents, make an informed decision unless they let us know what they stand for? If they feel they have already let us know based on their past incumbencies they are in trouble Their past terms are not things to be proud of. Let them be open with the people they are hoping to serve. At the moment, their silence is a disgrace.
