Tennessee football fans accustomed to wearing the same color to the Checker Neyland game every season should confirm whether they're assigned orange or white for the Vols' game against Texas on Sept. 26.
The colors have swapped this season, giving fans the opportunity to trade out their favorite orange or white gameday outfits from previous years. So it's important that Tennessee fans not assume their assigned color without checking CheckerNeyland.com.
Checker Neyland showcases UT's checkerboard pattern across the stadium by utilizing the sections in a strategic manner. Fans are assigned either orange or white based on their seat location. Fans can find which color to wear at CheckerNeyland.com.
From 2021-25, during the Josh Heupel coaching tenure,
the color assignments for sections had not changed. The same sections wore white for each Checker Neyland game, and vice versa for orange sections. That meant some fans could get locked into that routine. But orange and white sections are swapping for this game when the Longhorns come to Knoxville.
No. 13 Tennessee (3-0) plays No. 1 Texas (3-0) on Sept. 26 (noon ET, ABC) at Neyland Stadium.
It'll be quite a spectacle. ESPN's "College Gameday" show will air live from 9 a.m. to noon ET, originating from the lawn of Ayres Hall and moving inside Neyland Stadium for the final hour.
Iconic Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning should be there to see the Vols play his nephew, Texas quarterback Arch Manning. Longhorns fan Matthew McConaughey might be in attendance, and much more.
