Another orange burger chain has started construction in Knoxville.
Knox News reported in September that Smalls Sliders, a national fast food chain whose building is made out of shipping containers, was planning four locations in Knoxville. Now, we know where the first one will be.
Construction has started between the Weigel's and Arby's on North Cedar Bluff Road, and the work has caught the attention of Janice Ishee and Daniel Thomas, who wrote to Knox News ask what was going there.
Smalls Sliders will open its first of four Knoxville locations at 330 N. Cedar Bluff Road.

The fast-food restaurant specializes in sliders, fries and shakes. It has more than 30 locations across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri,
South Carolina and Texas.
The restaurant's website says its vision is "to be the cheeseburger slider brand that shakes up the big burger industry." Smalls Sliders should feel right at home in Vols country, as one of the values listed on the website is to "bleed orange."
Knoxville-Knox County Planning Commission documents say the restaurant will not have indoor dining, but will have a drive-thru, walk-up window and patio. The proposed metal building will be just 935 square feet.
There is not an announced opening date, with construction just recently began. Three more Smalls Sliders locations are planned for Knoxville, but we don't know the their locations yet.
