Knoxville police are investigating a stabbing at World's Fair Park that set off a University of Tennessee sent a campus emergency alert.
The stabbing led to nonlife-threatening injuries but the suspect fled, setting off the UT alert. Knoxville police said the people involved were likely homeless.
No students or campus property were involved, the University of Tennessee later confirmed. The initial alert advised community members to barricade themselves in place.
"Suspect direction of travel has been described as heading west from World's Fair Park towards main campus. Suspect was last seen on foot," the UT alert says.
