Two years ago, flooding caused by Hurricane Helene forever changed some East Tennessee communities. Floodwaters damaged or destroyed homes, businesses, public buildings, bridges and roads in eight counties, and 18 people died. As the waters receded, communities cleared the debris and began the work of rebuilding - a process that continues today in some instances.
At the worst of the flooding and in its aftermath, Knox News was there to capture what was happening in images, videos and words. On the anniversary of the storm that inflicted such devastation on the region, take a look back at our photos and videos from the floods and their aftermath.
