No. 17 Tennessee football will play No. 8 Kentucky in a night game.
It will kick off at 6:15 p.m. ET on Nov. 7 at Neyland Stadium and televised on ESPN. That game time and broadcast information were announced by the SEC on Oct. 26.
It's one of the SEC's oldest rivalries, but this will carry College Football Playoff implications. Tennessee (6-2, 3-2 SEC) likely must win to stay in the hunt with four regular-season games remaining. Kentucky (7-1, 5-1) leads the SEC standings under first-year coach Will Stein and needs a late push to make the 12-team bracket.
Both teams are off this week but coming off drastically different games.
Tennessee lost 27-24 to South Carolina on a walk-off field goal. Kentucky won 34-17 over Vanderbilt.
Tennessee and Kentucky rarely play with such stakes
Tennessee and Kentucky
have one of the SEC's oldest rivalries, which began in 1893.
UT leads the all-time series 86-26-9, and it's won five straight during coach Josh Heupel's tenure. The Vols won 56-24 at Kentucky last season, and they won 28-18 in Knoxville in 2024.
However, Heupel hasn't faced Stein, the coach who's sparked the Wildcats. Kentucky has a 5-1 record for the first time since 1977, and it's led by quarterback Kenny Minchey, a native of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
