Tennessee cornerback Jadais Richard, a Miami transfer, is out for the season due to an upper-body injury, Knox News confirmed.
Richard will not be on the field when the Vols start preseason practice on Aug. 5.
Richard transferred to Tennessee in January. He is a 6-foot-1, 195-pounder from West Monroe, Louisiana.
He started his career at Vanderbilt in 2022 as a four-star recruit. He played one season for the Commodores and the past three years at Miami, including a 2025 redshirt.
Richard has plenty of experience with 36 games played and eight starts in his career. His best season was 2024, when he had 27 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble in more than 400 snaps on defense before suffering a season-ending injury.
Richard played sparingly
for Miami in 2025, during its run to the CFP national title game. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
