Farragut has hired Derek Wright as its new boys soccer coach, the school announced on Aug. 12.
"We are very happy to have Coach Derek back at Farragut High School as our boys soccer coach," Farragut athletic director Donald Dodgen told Knox News. "Derek played soccer for us and was a very good player. Derek was also an assistant coach for us for seven seasons from 2002-07, and 2012."
Wright spent the last six seasons at Farragut Middle as an assistant for the boys basketball team. He was previously the head soccer coach for both the girls and boys middle school teams for three years.
Wright will replace former coach Bradley Culbreth, who recently led the Admirals
to a 13-2-2 record and a third-place finish in District 4-3A.
Culbreth had a 59-35-12 record in six seasons and is the son of late Wallie Culbreth, who led Farragut to four Class 3A titles between 2002-15.
