A trail in “one of the busiest sections” of Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be temporarily closed Sept. 24, according to the park.
Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail will be closed 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 24 to complete mowing and other maintenance safely.
The park will temporarily close the road at the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail entrance. Visitors still be able to drive the Cherokee Orchard Road loop and access the trailheads for Old Sugarlands Trail, Rainbow Falls Trail, Trillium Gap Trail and Twin Creeks Trail.
Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a narrow, single-lane road with steep roadsides.
