Tennessee baseball's SEC schedule for the 2027 season was revealed on Sept. 8. It includes four teams from last season's College World Series and begins with the Vols hosting defending national champion Oklahoma in March.
The 30-game conference schedule features five series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium and five on the road.
Tennessee's home series will come against Oklahoma (March 19-21), Arkansas (April 2-4), Georgia (April 23-25), Mississippi State (May 7-9) and Vanderbilt (May 20-22). It will play at Texas A&M (March 26-28), Texas (April 9-11), Auburn (April 16-18), Florida (April 30-May 2) and Alabama (May 14-16).
The Vols will not play Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss or South Carolina in the regular season.
The SEC Tournament will be played
from May 25-30 at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Alabama.
Half of the eight teams that advanced to the 2026 College World Series are on Tennessee's SEC schedule: Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia and Alabama. Of the Vols' other six SEC opponents, only Vanderbilt didn't make the NCAA Tournament.
Texas A&M, Florida, Mississippi State and Auburn all also hosted regionals, with the latter two making super regionals.
Tennessee will also face three players who transferred from its 2026 roster to other SEC programs. Starting shortstop Manny Marin and reliever Brayden Krenzel are now at Arkansas and utility player Jay Abernathy is at Oklahoma.
Tennessee has not announced its full 2027 nonconference schedule but will play three games at the Live Like Lou Jax College Baseball Classic from Feb. 26-28 at Vystar Ballpark in Jacksonville, Florida. Other participating teams are Cincinnati, Illinois and Georgia Tech.
The 2027 season will be coach Josh Elander's second leading the program after taking over for Tony Vitello. In 2026, the Vols went 15-15 in the SEC and were the No. 10 seed in the conference tournament before being eliminated in the second round by Arkansas. It was the sixth straight season Tennessee finished .500 or better in the SEC — its longest streak without a losing record in SEC play since the league started playing 30 conference games in 1996.
It was, however, also just the second time the Vols didn't at least make the SEC Tournament semifinals since 2019. And when their season ended in the Chapel Hill Regional with an 38-22 overall record, it snapped a streak of five straight super regional appearances and six straight full seasons with at least 40 wins.
