Think your Halloween costume idea was original? Think again. It seems everyone in Knoxville is planning to dress up as Dolly Parton this Halloween.
Parton is the No. 12 trending Halloween costume nationwide, according to Google Frightgeist, a webpage highlighting search trends for spooky season. She was the top trending person searched with the term "blonde wig."
That's no surprise, considering Parton's larger-than-life blonde hair was a defining part of her easily identifiable style, which became part of her enduring legacy after her death on Aug. 25.
160 pages of Dolly, at her brightest.
With a career spanning six decades, Parton's plethora of outfits leaves fans with plenty of costume choices. Hopefully, whatever look you pick, it matches Parton's panache.
Dress as Dolly Parton in the 'Islands in the Stream' music video
A good idea for a couples costume might be Parton and Kenny Rogers. Both of their looks in the "Islands in the Stream" music video are easily re-created. Plus, Rogers is the No. 14 trending Halloween costume, usually searched with his song "The Gambler."
To dress up as Parton, all you need is a black evening gown, and to be Rogers, all you need is a black tux. Throw in some microphones and don't forget the blonde wig to tie it all together.
Dress as Truvy Jones, Dolly Parton's character in 'Steel Magnolias'

More easily imitable Parton looks include those of characters she played during her blockbuster movie career.
One to try out is Truvy Jones from "Steel Magnolias." Try a yellow sweater with a blue collared shirt underneath and pink hoop earrings to embody Parton's role as a beautician in the 1989 film. Add a big yellow bow to a big yellow wig and grab a pair of haircutting shears to sell the look.
Dress as one of Dolly Parton's album cover looks
Another option is dressing up as one of Parton's looks from album covers across her extensive discography. Luckily, with so many album covers to choose from, Parton fans have a number of looks to re-create.
One of her most well-known album covers might be "Here You Come Again" released in 1977.
Most people might already have this look in their closet. All you need is a pair of blue jeans and a red button-down shirt, tied in the front with a knot.
Dress like Dolly Parton in her Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader costume
A popular look that comes up when searching for Halloween costumes for the "Queen of Country" is a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader costume.
During a 2023 Thanksgiving Day game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders at AT&T Stadium, Parton wore a custom outfit made to match the Cowboys' cheerleading uniforms. Parton performed at halftime and sang hits including "Jolene" and "9 to 5."
No matter what look you pick for Halloween, one thing is for sure: You better go all out, just like Parton always did, as evidenced by her famous quote, "It's a good thing I was born a girl, otherwise I'd be a drag queen."
Dolly Parton Halloween costume leads trending searches
A Parton Halloween costume might be the No. 12 costume search overall, but it's the No. 1 search in Knoxville.
"There’s a frighteningly high chance you will see a Dolly Parton costume on Halloween this year," Google Frightgeist said.
