A Knoxville hot chicken restaurant is spreading its wings beyond downtown to a Cedar Bluff strip mall.
Hot Birds, a Nashville-style hot chicken concept inside Marble City Market, is working to open its first standalone spot at 460 N. Cedar Bluff Road. It will be just a few doors down from Potchke Bagel.
The restaurant announced the move on social media but hasn't shared an opening timeline, only that a soft opening and grand opening will happen soon.
"Hoping to serve both our longstanding loyal customers on top of all the new folks that have yet to try amazing Hot Chicken," Hot Birds said in an Instagram post. "We will have a slightly expanded menu, and are open to suggestions!"
Hot Birds will continue to operate its stall inside the downtown food
hall and is looking to hire workers for both locations. Its menu is loaded with spicy favorites, including a classic hot chicken sandwich.
Hot Birds also offers loaded fries, mac and cheese, coleslaw, onion rings and an array of wing flavors.
