An Engagement That Shakes the Barracks
Just when you thought it was safe to chug maple syrup, the Broken Lizard comedy troupe has returned with a third installment of their cult classic franchise. Titled 'Super Troopers 3: Farva's Wedding,' the film centers on the one event no one saw coming:
the obnoxious Rod Farva (Kevin Heffernan) is getting married. And to the absolute horror of Trooper Arcot "Thorny" Ramathorn (Jay Chandrasekhar), the bride-to-be is none other than his own sister, Sarita (Hannah Simone). The premise immediately establishes a hilarious and personal conflict, pitting the unofficial leader of the troopers against their most infuriating colleague in a battle for familial sanity.
Team Thorny vs. Team Farva
The movie's core tension comes from Thorny doing everything in his power to stop the wedding. In what director Chandrasekhar describes as "'Meet the Parents' meets 'Super Troopers,'" Thorny is convinced that Farva is the worst possible match for his sister and sets out to prove it. The conflict reportedly begins after Farva saves Sarita from a car accident, a heroic act that Thorny finds deeply suspicious. As expected, the road to the altar is paved with poor decisions and disastrous set pieces. One of the central sequences involves Farva's bachelor party, which Thorny hopes to use as the ultimate piece of evidence against him. The shenanigans reportedly include Farva force-feeding Thorny's vegetarian father beef (which he surprisingly enjoys) and ordering a massive lobster dinner despite having a severe shellfish allergy, forcing the other troopers to arm themselves with EpiPens. These gags highlight the classic Farva formula: taking everything a step too far while remaining blissfully unaware of the consequences, much to the agony of his fellow officers.

While the wedding provides the main comedic engine, the troopers also stumble into another criminal conspiracy. A new drug called "Canadian Crystal" is circulating, and the investigation leads them to a local maple syrup factory and the Buchanan family, who happen to be involved in planning the wedding. This B-plot ensures the film delivers the cop-comedy action fans expect, blending crime-fighting with the personal chaos of the wedding preparations. The film also sees the return of beloved characters like the perpetually beleaguered Captain O'Hagen (Brian Cox) and introduces a new rookie to the force.

The film, which hit theaters in August 2026, is filled with the kind of absurdist humor and quotable one-liners that made the original a cult phenomenon.
