As Danny rides his Big Wheel through the Overlook Hotel's hallways, the relentless symmetry makes the hotel itself feel like a predator. The iconic shot of the Grady twins at the end of a hall uses this perspective to create an image of inescapable horror; there is simply nowhere for your eye to go but toward the threat.
