film, his leadership skills face their ultimate test. The central plot revolves around the wedding of his sister, Sarita (Hannah Simone), to the one man no one would ever wish upon their family: Farva. The movie sees Thorny orchestrating a series of schemes to expose Farva for the buffoon he is and break up the engagement before it’s too late. Expect his signature exasperation to be at an all-time high as he balances his duty to his family with his duty to, well, probably messing with Farva.
Rodney 'Farva' Farva, The Groomzilla
Littering and… getting married? Kevin Heffernan’s Rodney Farva, the loud-mouthed, obnoxious, and universally disliked trooper, is somehow the man of the hour. After saving Thorny’s sister from a car wreck, Farva has apparently won her heart, and now he’s preparing to walk down the aisle. For fans of the franchise, the idea of Farva at the center of a wedding is both horrifying and hilarious. This is the man whose idea of a good time is ordering a liter of cola and antagonizing everyone within earshot. While he seems to be charming his new in-laws, his bachelor party and the events leading up to the wedding promise to showcase his worst, most chaotic tendencies, providing Thorny with ample ammunition to stop the unholy union.
Mac and Foster, The Instigators
You can’t have a proper Super Troopers adventure without the supporting agents of chaos. Steve Lemme’s Mac, the group’s resident prankster and a man who enjoys a good dose of feminine hygiene products, is back alongside Paul Soter’s Foster, the trooper who famously fell for his German-accented alter ego. While Thorny is busy with wedding sabotage, Mac and Foster are drawn into the film’s B-plot: a new drug called “Canadian Crystal” that’s flooding Vermont. Their investigation gets them tangled up with the wedding planners, who might just be more than they seem. Foster’s relationship with Ursula (Marisa Coughlan), now a Police Chief, also continues, adding another layer of complication to the proceedings.
Robbie 'Rabbit' Roto, The Perennial Rookie
Erik Stolhanske’s Rabbit may no longer be the new guy, but he’ll always be the rookie in the eyes of his fellow troopers. Known for his gullibility and being the butt of a thousand jokes, Rabbit returns with the same wide-eyed enthusiasm. In the new installment, he gets a taste of his own medicine with the introduction of an actual new rookie, Coy Burns (Andrew Dismukes). But old habits die hard, and you can expect Rabbit to find himself in plenty of compromising situations, including an unfortunate incident involving mushroom-laced chocolates at Farva's bachelor party.
Captain O'Hagan, The Retired Legend
Brian Cox’s legendary performance as the perpetually furious Captain O'Hagan was a highlight of the first two films. This time, he’s officially retired but can’t seem to stay away from the barracks. O'Hagan’s presence looms large, and while he may not be in charge anymore, it’s impossible to imagine a major event like Farva’s wedding going down without him getting roped in. He has handed the reins over to a new captain, but a man who once chugged a bottle of maple syrup to prove a point isn't one to sit on the sidelines when there’s mayhem to be had.
The New Crew and Familiar Faces
A few new faces join the madness this time around. Hannah Simone plays Sarita, Thorny’s sister and the unfortunate bride-to-be who sees something in Farva that no one else can. Nat Faxon steps in as Captain Todd Markowski, the man tasked with managing the troopers and their new fleet of electric patrol cars. And of course, Marisa Coughlan returns as Ursula, now the Spurbury Police Chief, proving that some people can, in fact, grow up and get a real job, unlike the men she has to deal with. These new dynamics are set to collide with the established chaos, guaranteeing that Farva’s wedding will be an event for the ages.
