At most festivals, art is a backdrop for the main event: the music. At Burning Man, this dynamic is flipped. The art is the event. For one week, the vast, empty canvas of the Nevada desert is transformed into a sprawling, open-air gallery of monumental

The week culminates in two significant burns: the raucous burning of the Man on Saturday and the silent, solemn burning of the Temple on Sunday.
