The Legendary Captain: Brian Cox
In what might be the best news for longtime fans, Brian Cox is officially reprising his role as the exasperated but fatherly Captain O'Hagan. Since the last film, Cox's stardom has exploded thanks to his iconic role as Logan Roy in "Succession." According to Kevin Heffernan, having Cox back on set after his celebrated turn as the media titan brought a different feel. He’s always been the gravitas of these absurd comedies, and seeing him return to the barracks after becoming one of the most famous TV dads in history is a major win.
The Spurbury Chief: Marisa Coughlan
Another essential returning face is Marisa Coughlan as Ursula Hanson. First introduced as a dispatcher for the rival Spurbury PD, she ended the first film as Foster's girlfriend and a newly minted Vermont State Trooper. The cast is also getting a boost from the world of sketch comedy. "Saturday Night Live" cast member Andrew Dismukes and alum Jon Rudnitsky have both joined the film. Dismukes is playing a character named Trooper Coy Burns, while Rudnitsky's role is still under wraps.
