Engineers constantly work to balance client-side and server-side rendering, caching assets aggressively in browsers, and using sophisticated frameworks to create rich user experiences that still feel fast and responsive. Pioneering Online Ads and E-Commerce

The service’s most popular features, particularly the message boards, kept users logged on for far longer than projected, driving up operational costs without increasing revenue.
