The family of Twisha Sharma has moved a competent judicial magistrate seeking an independent second post-mortem examination at AIIMS Delhi, while also demanding preservation of alleged call records and digital evidence linked to the accused side in the ongoing investigation into her death in Bhopal. In a press note issued on May 20, the family raised questions over nearly 45 calls allegedly made by the accused mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, on the day of Twisha’s death. The family demanded that investigating agencies immediately secure and preserve all electronic records connected directly or indirectly to the accused camp.According to the family, mobile numbers allegedly linked to associates, legal representatives, domestic staff, assistants,
and drivers close to the accused should also be examined as part of the investigation. They claimed digital evidence could play a crucial role in establishing the sequence of events surrounding Twisha’s death.
The family has demanded immediate forensic protection, lawful preservation and sealing of all digital and electronic evidence that could be crucial to the investigation. Their request includes preservation of Call Detail Records (CDR), tower dump data, tower location records, Internet Protocol (IP) logs, WhatsApp chats and backups, emails, SMS records and social media communication. They have also sought protection of cloud data, digital metadata, device access logs, CCTV coordination records, call recordings and server logs, alleging that these records may help establish the sequence of events and identify all individuals who were in communication before and after Twisha Sharma’s death.
