Evian: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump shared a warm interaction at the G7 Summit in Evian, France, on Tuesday. Both leaders exchanged smiles and a cordial handshake. The meeting marked their first face-to-face encounter in 16 months, underscoring the continued importance of India-US ties. Both leaders previously met when PM Modi visited the United States days after Trump became the US President for the second time in January last year. Meanwhile, PM Modi and Trump are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France, according to a senior US administration official. These talks will take place days after India criticised US strikes on ships carrying Indian sailors near the Strait of Hormuz.
