New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday received United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Delhi airport, illustrating the importance he attaches
to a strong India-UAE friendship.The Prime Minister personally went to the Palam airport to receive the UAE president. The two then travelled in the same car, and PM Modi shared a photo of both sitting in the car, greeting each other.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, PM Modi wrote, "Looking forward to our discussions. Went to the airport to welcome my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. His visit illustrates the importance he attaches to a strong India-UAE friendship. Looking forward to our discussion."

UAE President's India Visit Comes As Middle East Deals Iran Tensions
His visit to India comes amid a volatile situation in the Middle-East arising out of the sharp decline in Iran-US ties, simmering tensions between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates over Yemen and the unsettling political scenario in Gaza.Al Nahyan and Modi will hold wide-ranging talks shortly.
What's on Agenda During UAE President's India Visit
People familiar with the UAE president's visit said trade and investment, defence industry cooperation and energy initiatives are expected to be on the agenda of his talks with the Indian leadership.The situation in the Middle East is also likely to figure in the talks, they said.
