The
deputy foreign minister of Iran is likely to visit India to attend the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, reported ANI, citing sources from Iran. India holds the presidency for BRICS this year and will host the grouping's foreign ministers' meeting on May 14-15. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is still awaited.
The theme for India's BRICS presidency is -- "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability". BRICS brings together eleven major emerging markets and developing countries of the world - Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). India's Ministry of Women and Child Development convened the first preparatory meeting of the BRICS Women's Working Group in virtual mode under India's presidency of the intergovernmental grouping this year.
