LeT Terrorist ‘Khargosh’ Escapes India On Fake Passport, Traced To Saudi Arabia

Srinagar: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Umer Harris, alias “Khargosh,” has been traced to Saudi Arabia after fleeing India using a fake passport. Security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir also shared details, including digitally acquired information, with the central agencies. Sources told Times Now that Khargosh infiltrated Kashmir in 2012. He lived in places like Bandipora and Srinagar. Khrgosh then moved to Rajasthan and managed to get a passport with forged documents. The LeT terrorist is believed to have escaped last year via Indonesia and is now believed to be in Saudi Arabia (2024–25). has arrested five individuals, including two top LeT Pakistani terrorists—Abdullah, alias Abu Hureira and Usman alias Khubaib. Abu Hureira, a Pakistani terrorist, had been evading arrest for the last 16 years. Three local associates from Srinagar — Mohammad Naqeeb Bhat, Adil Rashid Bhat, and Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama — were detained for allegedly providing logistical support. Investigators say this support ranged from shelter and food to movement assistance, forming the backbone that allowed foreign terrorists to operate undetected.The investigation revealed that it was aa network designed for sustainability rather than visibility. As per officials, the module had developed financial and logistical channels to support terrorist activity over extended periods. One of the most striking findings is the use of forged documents and identities, which allowed operatives to move beyond Jammu and Kashmir and establish bases in other parts of India.
