The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out raids at ten locations in Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts of Kashmir in connection with a "white-collar" terror module that was behind
a car blast near Delhi's Red Fort. A slow-moving Hyundai i20 exploded near the Red Fort area on November 10, killing 15 people. The blast came hours after the security agencies busted a 'white-collar terror module' in Haryana's Faridabad, leading to the recovery of 2,900 kg of explosives and the arrest of three doctors. The NIA conducted raids at Nadigam Shopian, Samboora, Koil Pulwama, Qazigund and Verinag Anantnag areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The raids are being carried out at locations linked to people associated with the white-terror module and the Delhi car blast case. The NIA carried out searches at the residence of Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish in Qazigund. He was arrested by the NIA for allegedly providing technical support to terrorists and was remanded to 10 days custody by Delhi's Patiala Court.

According to sources, Jasir alias Danish was the first choice for terror attack and was groomed as a suicide bomber, however, he backed out. Wani, who was earlier detained by Jammu and Kashmir, had told during his questioning that while others in the module wanted him to be an over-ground worker (OGW) for the banned Jaish-e-Mohammed(JeM), mastermind Dr Umar Nabi brainwashed him for several months to become a suicide bomber. The plan, however, collapsed in April this year after the man backed out, citing his poor economic condition and the belief that suicide was forbidden in Islam.
The NIA teams also conducted searches at the residence of Moulvi Irfan Ahmad Wagay in Shopian. Wagay has emerged as the mastermind of the radicalisation and recruitment of the 'white-collar' terror module busted early last month. He was arrested by police in October, and the NIA took him into custody last month after taking over the probe into the car blast that left 15 people dead and several others injured.Additionally, the agency searched the residence of Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, who was arrested from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur in the first week of November. The NIA also raided the residence of Dr Muzamil Shakeel at Koil Pulwama, from whose rented accommodation in Faridabad the Police had recovered huge quantity of explosives.
